Having successfully obtained my Graduate Diploma in Art Therapy from the Toronto Art Therapy Institute, I am keenly developing a private practice with specialization in supporting persons of all ages experiencing loss, grief and bereavement including prolonged and complicated issues. I also have experience providing Art Therapy services for persons living homeless and related issues, in addictions recovery, and those experiencing challenges to good mental health. I have particular interest in somatic issues – physical health impairments that have a strong connection to emotional and mental ill health.
My father took a photography course when I was a little girl. He had a darkroom in the basement and frequently employed me as one of his models. As I grew older, I started to take my own photographs and enrolled in photography courses in high school. It became a passion that inspired me to apply to Ryerson University where I earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photographic Stills. For 13 years, I was employed in a behind-the-scenes role at one of the top stock photography agencies in North America, and am now an active contributor to Shutterstock. I enjoy shooting found objects, architectural details, candid portraits and those things that lost or abandoned. You can view my Shutterstock collection here.
In 2010, I achieved a life-long dream by learning to ride a motorcycle. Starting out on a 250cc 1985 Honda Rebel, the learning process was somewhat slow going. Eventually I graduated from a cruiser to a dual-sport and bought my first on-road/off-road bike – a 2000 Suzuki DR650. Since then I have taken short road trips around Ontario, longer trips through the USA to Moab, Utah, and in 2014 my partner and I embarked on a nine-month break from normalcy and rode down to Buenos Aires, Argentina.
